Installation and configuration of the NetMotion Mobility client on Windows.

Windows Home Editions are not Officially Supported and any issues arising from use on Windows Home Editions will not be covered.

Prerequisites

  • username and password issued by T|Forge

  • DNS name of the NetMotion Mobility server.

If you are a T|Forge NetMotion Access customer then the DNS name will be access-12.tforge.net

T|Forge NetMotion Premium or Premium On-Premise customers will be issued a unique customer-specific DNS name from T|Forge.

Reseller based customers will need to get the server DNS address from their provider.

Instructions

  1. The first step is to download the setup file for your version of Windows from this How To document, at the bottom of the page. Once the download has completed, Double click on the setup file that you have downloaded. In our case, it was saved to the desktop 

  2. Click Next to proceed with the installation. You will then be prompted to Allow the app to make changes to your device in order to install it. Click “Yes” to proceed

  3. Next, you will be presented with the installation screen. Click Next to continue

  4. You will need to read and accept the terms, once happy, tick the accept terms checkbox and click next to proceed

  5. Next, you will have the option to change the default installation directory but in most cases, this is not needed and you may click next to proceed

  6. The installation will then give you a confirmation screen to continue. Just click “Install” to begin the installation

  7. You will then be requested to enter the NetMotion Mobility server address which is the DNS address you were given or in the case of T|Forge NetMotion Access customers access-12.tforge.net. Enter the address as per the image below and click next

  8. The installation will then proceed as per below

  9. Allow the installation to continue and choose Finish once it has completed

  10. You will then be prompted to restart your computer before continuing. Select “Yes”

  11. Once restarted you will be prompted to enter your credentials before you can log on to your computer. Enter the username and password that T|Forge has issued you with and leave the domain section as none, then click Ok to log on.



Congratulations, you have now successfully completed the installation of the NetMotion Mobility client on Windows. Should you experience any problems, be sure to Contact T|Forge Support .

Changing servers

In order to change from a pre-existing server after installing you can simply follow the below steps

  1. Go to the configuration page on the installed netmotion client

  2. You may find the current server name under the General tab and make the changes under the Server name or IP address section, afterwards reconnect to ensure the connection establishes

If you are moving from Access to Access-V12 you will need to change the server name from access.tforge.net to access-12.tforge.net
